Project Overview:

The Town successfully received an award in the amount of $95,204.50 for the Summer 2021 Shared Streets and Spaces grant.  A portion of the awarded grant money will be put towards improving pedestrian and bicyclist safety at road crossings along the Bruce Freeman Rail trail. This includes installing new rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB) with automatic detection for bicyclists on Williams Road and retrofitting the existing RRFBs on Old Marlboro Road with automatic detection.   This grant money will also be put toward installation of new solar powered vehicle speed feedback signs on Old Marlboro Road and school zone signs with speed feedback incorporated at the Concord Middle School.
