State Law requires that all dogs in the Commonwealth over 6 months of age be vaccinated against rabies and licensed annually. Dogs must be licensed by March 31 each year in order to avoid penalty. Dogs not licensed by March 31 each year may be subject to a fine of up to $50 in addition to licensing and late fees. Owners of more than three dogs are required to have an annual inspection of the area where dogs are kept prior to obtaining a kennel license.
