MAGIC Climate Change Resiliency Plan

The Minuteman Advisory Group on Interlocal Coordination (MAGIC) is a regional group of 13 municipalities, located northwest of Boston, which since 1984 has collaborated on issues of regional concern. MAGIC and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) initiated a planning process to assess vulnerabilities from the predicted impacts of climate change (i.e., changing precipitation and temperatures), and to develop an action plan for implementing adaptation and mitigation strategies.The MAGIC Climate Change Resiliency Plan includes three main elements: a Vulnerability Assessment, development of adaptation and mitigation strategies, and stakeholder and community engagement. The results of the process will guide MAGIC in taking regional action and help towns in the region integrate climate change considerations into their local policies, regulations, incentives, and projects. The process will also strengthen networks among stakeholders from various sectors - including the built environment, natural resources, clean energy, public health, and government - in order to share knowledge and build a base of support for further action.

Metropolitan Planning Organization Long Range Plan

The Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) guides investment in the Boston metropolitan region’s transportation system for the next 25 years. It defines an overarching vision of the region’s future transportation, establishes goals and objectives that will lead to achieving that vision, and allocates projected revenue to transportation programs and projects consistent with the Boston Region MPO’s goals.

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's (MBTA’s) 2040 Long-Term Capital Investment Plan Rider Census

The census helps the MBTA collect information that plays an important role in planning service and ensuring service is provided fairly. The MBTA will use the data collected in the Rider Census to evaluate current service, to plan future service, and to analyze the potential rider impacts of service or fare change proposals. In addition, the census satisfies a requirement to survey riders every 5 years about their demographics and trip-making characteristics.
