At Concord’s 2017 Town Meeting, voters adopted Article 51 setting goals for reducing the Town’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions dramatically in the coming years, which CSEC enthusiastically supported. In a 2016 analysis, over 60% of Concord’s GHG emissions come from the residential sector, compared with about 35% from commercial and 4% from municipal facilities and schools. With this in mind, CSEC has shifted its focus recently towards helping our fellow residents reduce emissions and save money. The Cooler Concord Fair organized by CSEC in February 2017, brought over 1000 residents together to learn about the significant actions they can take.
