Council on Aging/Senior Services
Welcome to the COA!
Stop in to join a class, meet friends for lunch, browse our gift shop, or arrange a shopping trip on our vans! The Council on Aging also offers outreach services, health clinics, and assistance with health insurance or taxes. Come by anytime to meet the staff and see how we can help.
We're Open!
The COA is open to the public with many activities available in-person. Individuals who have had one dose of the J&J vaccine or two doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines PLUS a booster dose of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines may choose not to wear a mask in the building. Please stop by the office to show your CDC card to a staff member. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals must still wear a mask in the building. The CDC is still recommending that anyone at higher risk or who has someone at higher risk in their household continues to wear a mask. All in-person activities require pre-registration at this time. Please call the office at 978 318 3020 to let us know you plan to attend any activities or meetings. Our hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 4:30 and Friday from 8:30 to 2:30.
Your Van About Town!
The COA van can take van riders to and from locations within Concord. The van will also now be able to take passengers to appointments at Acton Medical. We also offer weekly shopping trips to Market Basket in Maynard and twice a month each to Crosby's Market and Trader Joe's. Check out the latest issue of the Senior Spirit newsletter for more van information. Please note our new shorter hours on Friday afternoons.
Passengers must not have virus symptoms, must wear a mask for the duration of their trip, and be ready to use hand sanitizer prior to boarding.
