[ARCHIVED] Concord250 Update for March

Call for Art! Youth and adults who live, work or attend school in Concord are invited to submit photographs of their original artwork for consideration to be featured in a large-scale public art exhibit. Selected images will be reproduced in a series 16″ x 20” weatherproof decals which will be placed on sidewalks in a half-mile loop around West Concord village. The decals will remain in place for approximately six months, from spring into the fall of 2025. Read more - Extended Deadline Feb 28.

February 28: Umbrella Arts: Concord250 Event: “Where We Belong” Premiere. This show runs February 28-March 23rd. Indigenous Theater-Maker’s Journey Grapples with Geographic Borders and Cultural Legacies in a Universal Search for Belonging. This brand new staging in Concord, MA during the Semiquincentennial of the beginning of the American Revolution raises timely questions of whose histories are told, how, by whom, and in what language.

Ongoing Concord250 Project: At the Concord Main Library: Be a part of the Monumental (Re)Make! Help us recreate Daniel Chester French’s iconic statue The Minute Man through collaborative 3D printing! Open to all ages and skill levels. It's free and fun and a chance to be part fo something big.  Read more and be a part of this project! 

Call for Adult Concord250 Ambassadors! Join as a volunteer ambassador for Concord250 on Saturday, April 19, 2025, to help welcome and assist visitors throughout the day. Volunteers will work in small teams during 3-4 hour shifts at various locations around town. Ambassadors will provide information about events, offer a friendly presence, and connect visitors with additional resources as needed. To sign up, email: 250celebration@concordma.gov, and your request will be forwarded to the volunteer coordinator.

Tuesday, March 4: The acclaimed Concord-Carlisle High School (CCHS) band program, under the direction of Christopher Noce, proudly announces "Sound Revolutions," a landmark concert commemorating the 250th anniversary of the first shots fired in the American Revolution. This special event, a collaboration with the Lexington High School (LHS) band program, will take place on Tuesday, March 4th, at 7:00 PM at Concord-Carlisle High School.  Sunday, March 2: Concord250 Music Event is happening in March -  Concord250 Event: Choral Evensong.

 Friday, March 14, 7:45-9am Attention Businesses: Save the Date for Key Concord250th Information for April 19 Weekend. Held at First Parish, recorded by Minute Man Media Network.

 A recording is now available of the Concord250 Info Session for businesses that took place in January. Key members of the Concord250 Public Safety and Concord 250 sub-committees shared essential details about the April 19th celebration. Thank you to Minuteman Media Network for this recording.
