Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Notification

Per 314 CMR 16.00 – “Notification Requirements to Promote Public Awareness Of Sewage Pollution”, the Town of Concord is required to establish and maintain a public website to post public advisory notifications when issued and to receive requests from the public to subscribe to and receive public advisory notifications by email or text message.

In the event of an SSO, public notifications and any updates that are required by 314 CMR 16.00 will be issued out to notification subscribers.

Sign up to be receive an email when there is an SSO event in Concord

What type of information will I receive?

When a discharge or overflow occurs, Concord Water & Sewer Division sends out a public advisory notification within 2-hours of discovery of an “SSO event” in Concord, or any events that are required to be reported under 314 CMR 16.00.  

You can also see a list of discharge and overflow events on the MassDEP website (linked below).  This MassDEP list is updated within 24 hours of receipt of “SSO event” reporting from Concord.  Enter "Concord" in the Permittee field and click “Search”.  CSO Data Portal (state.ma.us)
