Allergy Awareness Requirements

The Allergy Requirements (PDF) have been added to 105 CMR 5900 (adopted June 9, 2010). The effect dates for compliance shall be no later than:
  • October 2010
    • A poster shall be prominently placed in employee work areas regarding:
    • Notice shall be placed on menus and menu boards which reads "before placing your order, please inform your server if a person in your party has a food allergy" (language must not be altered). To help with the training component of the new law, FAAN has updated its How to Read a Label for Food Allergens (PDF).
